6.3.9 Biquad Filter Implementation using System Generator

The biquad filter is also implemented in the system generator as shown in Figure 6.9, using the specifications shown in Figure 6.8. The filter coefficients are taken from the FDA tool. Using the Biquad filter, a tenth-order filter as shown in Figure 6.9 is designed by cascading 5 stages of Biquad filter. The filter is tested withan audio signal added to a noise signal in the form of sine wave of frequency 30 Hz. The input and output of the filter is 16 bits digital value without any binary point. Internally, the operations are performed with 64 bits having 20 bits floating precision. The output of the filter is shown in Figures 6.10 and 6.11.

Figure 6.12 shows the Simulink model of a biquad filter of order 2. Cascading this biquad filter results in a tenth-order filter.
